Walks and Crocs

Brodie helps me scan the weekly ads.
What a helper!

Ok, so this is what he's really doing...

Not as helpful.

This week I bought Brodie a walker.
He loves to walk and would do it all the time if he could.

Problem though... this is on the lowest setting!
His first problem with being short!

We tried putting his shoes on, ya know for a boost...

It helped a
little, but there won't be any walkin' for awhile.

Aren't these knock off crocs so cute!?
They are called "Doggers" and have pictures of
dogs on them instead of crocodiles.
Perfect for our family!

Blue, Green, Brown, Hazel...?

We're coming up on the 6 month mark and
we still don't know...

They sure are beautiful though!
I hope they stay this color.

Lassen: Part III

Yep, we went to Lassen Again!
I love it there!
Bo's dad gave me a book called "Hiking Lassen"
and I started reading it during the end of my pregnancy.
Ever since then I've been dreaming about... well, Hiking Lassen!
My plan is to hike as many of the trails as I can.
I just find it all so interesting and I love getting out.
This last weekend was a fee free day, so you didn't have to pay
to get into the park. Thrifty me of course had to take advantage of this!
We stayed in Mineral and the Henry's camped with us Friday night.
We love the Henry's! They are so much fun and we are really glad
that we've become friends with them.
Brodie roasting his first marshmallow... that mom wouldn't let him eat.

"I'm supposed to do what? You want me to put it near that hot stuff?"

Lunch at Battle Creek

"Excuse me, why are you putting me in the freezing cold creek?"

April and her kids - they are so cute!
Braden (2 years old) kept call Bo "Boo"

"Hi, Boo!" "Where are you going Boo?"
"I wanna see what Boo is doing!"

Helen Lake - Doesn't that water look inviting?

Bo thought so!
Nevermind the fact that there
were still piles of snow around the lake.

We went on a 3-mile hike to Bumpass Hell

There were some steep parts with some cliffy edges

Bumpass Hell -And so the story goes:
Kendall Vanhook Bumpass was a cowboy
and worked in the Lassen area in the 1860s.
One day Bumpass stumbled upon the area and his leg
was badly scalded when it broke through a thin
crust above a mud pot.
He told his friends and townspeople about it, describing it as "hell."
A newspaper editor was interested in the story and
convinced Bumpass to take him to this place.
Unfortunately, Bumpass' leg broke through the crust again -
Which led to the amputation of his leg.

The end of the Bumpass Hell Trail

This was one beautiful "hell" if you ask me.

And as always, 3 is a magic number!

5 Months Old!

Can you believe it?
It's already been 5 months!
I was planning on getting him dressed up in a cute outfit
and taking some good 5 month old pictures of him...
but somehow the time got away from me.
Oh well, here's what I did get of him today:

Ew, Gator!

Brodie has been really noticing the dogs lately.
He always wants to grab them and pull their hair.
The only problem is Gator gets really excited that someone is
actually paying him attention and wants to return the thanks
with some licks!

This morning Brodie could not keep his hands out of his mouth
while eating his peaches.
Usually he's a very clean eater.
Not today.

We're so happy to have him around!

Happy 4th!! .... and 5th.

4th of July in good 'ol Biggs.
I was skeptical about spending our 4th in Biggs,
but I was pleasantly surprised with how enjoyable it was!

Cousins!

Brodie loves Rachelle - she shakes the babies.

The fireworks were really great
and Brodie wasn't even scared!

July 5th

Rachel playing on the swing.

Weeeeee!

Look at her trying to be a model.
