Horseback Riding Lessons

We started horseback riding lessons this summer.  I wish we could do it weekly, because the kids love it so much, but with all the other summer activities they have going on, we can only afford to do it twice a month.  It's something we really look forward to though!

I love our teacher!  She is so great with the kids and really lets them be hands on with the horses.  Their first lesson they were already in control of the horse all on their own.

Her horses are wonderful and are so good with the kids!  On our last lesson, even Mari was riding Dakota the horse all on her own.

And while kids are waiting their turn, they have lots of horse barn entertainment in the form of cats, pigeons and roping dummies.

We love it!!

Pack Saddle Lake

A few Saturdays ago, we took the drive to Pack Saddle Lake.  It was a beautiful drive and we had to do quite a bit of four wheeling to get there.  Then it was a short half mile hike straight down to the lake.  Wish I would have not worn flip flops for that one, but we made it!

It was a really pretty little lake.  They had a nice rope swing that Bo enjoyed swinging from and he was able to cross another mountain lake off his swimming list.

We had some of the Randy Scott Family join us, which was a lot of fun.

Mari and Duke throwing rocks into the lake.  Cuties!

An attempted family selfie.  We are really bad at these.

The lake view hiking down.

Mari drove us home.  She is so funny behind the wheel!

It was a great afternoon and the boys have been asking to go back daily!

Graduation!

We have some graduates!  Ryker graduated preschool and Brodie graduation Kindergarten!

Here is Ryker's first day vs last day.

And his preschool graduation:

It was a cute little ceremony and it was Ryker's teacher's retirement graduation also.  Ryker will miss the cut off date for kindergarten by about a month, so that means he will be going to preschool again next year.  We found a really great one that will be more of a pre-k preschool, which I'm really happy about.  It stinks that we'll have to drive across town for it, but I think it will be a good experience for him.

And here is Brodie's 1st vs last day!  Brodie loved kindergarten and really excelled.  His class put on a very fun graduation program!

I really enjoyed going through his folders of work.  He wants to be a welder when he grows up.  I just love his pictures!
