Easter Weekend

First off, we have to document that Ryker started preschool!  I was planning on putting him in the summer preschool with Brodie as an adjustment period before he goes by himself, but they aren't going to have a summer preschool this year, so we signed him up for the last month of this semester.  He absolutely loves it and Brodie has been so excited to show his brother around.  I really hope they both behave while I'm not there, but the drop offs and pick ups have been very positive!

Saturday morning Brodie had a wrestling tournament.  Brodie fought against some tough competitors and won two matches and lost two matches.  He got a medal and the coach gave him his first ever trophy for great sportsmanship.  So proud of this boy and his always positive attitude!

Bo's sister and her kids also came up for the weekend, so after the tournament we went and had a neighborhood Easter egg hunt at Grandma's.

It was pretty exciting!

Mari's first egg.

And Mari found a ladybug!  It was the cutest thing ever and it reminded me of my Grandma, who always calls us girls her ladybugs.

That night we had everyone over for dinner.  The kids played a lot and we dyed Easter Eggs!

The next morning we woke up to find the the Easter Bunny had hid all of our eggs and he also left us some very nice Easter Baskets.

Just tramping through my daffodils looking for eggs...

After the egg hunt I was in the shower and Bo was working on something downstairs for church while the kids watched an easter show and went through their baskets.  When I got out of the shower, I found that they had peeled all 18 eggs on my carpet and were feasting on them all!  They were even nice enough to give Mari several eggs.  Yikes, that was a trying time for me.

My cuties!  We were able to re-use our wedding outfits from my sister's wedding and the kids were looking pretty nice!

Happy Easter!

Bo, the Gladiator!

Back in January of 2005, a month before we met, Bo found himself inside an MMA cage at Colusa Casino.  Basically he went to go watch a friend fight and the opponent of another guy on the fight card, didn't show up, so Bo volunteered to step in.  It is a great story if you can get Bo to tell it to you.  He told it to me on our first date and won my heart.  They gave him $100 and a video, but the video unfortunately has been lost.  (Friends and family, check your vhs tapes one more time for us, it should have the word gladiator on it.)  I tried googling the footage last night, figured might as well try, right?  And found this picture!  I was so excited!

Easter Bunnies!

On one of the local garage sale sites someone was selling baby bunnies for $5 each.  I don't really want to own a bunny, even though they are very cute, so I asked the seller if she would rent me a bunny for a couple hours and she did!  The kids were so excited when I came home with them and we got some great Easter pictures!

Ryker was particularly fond of the bunnies.  He kept kissing them.

Mari was hot and cold when it came to the bunnies.  She would get really excited, but then try to grab them too hard and we would tell her no and then she would cry.  At one point she was playing peek-a-boo with one of them and that made her very happy.

Even I was a little sad when we had to take them back.

My Good Luck Charms

We had a visit from the Leprechaun this year.  He put green streamers infront of the kid's door and left some green jelly beans, green juice, other green treats, some green bubbles, and left some clues for a treasure hunt.  The boys loved the treasure hunt and at the end of their search they found a box of Lucky Charms.  They only get that kind of cereal once a year, so it's a pretty big deal.

I am one lucky mom!
