One night before bed Brodie talked about wanting to go on a treasure hunt, so I told him if he went to bed right away then I would make him a treasure map and I would hide it under his pillow.
The next day he was so excited!
He diligently followed the map to his treasure - chocolate kisses!
Love this boy!
One family activity I never got around to documenting this summer, was our trip to Squealers Family Fun Park. Squealers has go karts, rock climbing, bounce houses galore, bumper boats and a miniature golf course. Typically we wouldn't go to a place like this because it gets pretty expensive taking a family of 5 to an activity like this, but I was lucky enough to win tickets through a facebook contest!
Bounce house!
Go Karts!
Poor Ryker couldn't drive the go karts because it was for 4 and up, but he still got to go with his dad.
Bumper Boats! Brodie kept insisting they would need swimsuits for this, but I told him they would be fine. Boy, was I wrong! Both boys got soaked!
Luckily I had swimsuits in the trunk of the car, so we were able to put some dry shorts on Brodie. Ryker opted to keep his wet pants.
Rock Climbing!
After the boys watched their daddy go, they wanted to try too. Neither of them got very high up, but they still had fun.
One afternoon Brodie asked me what a popcorn ball was, so I felt obligated to show him.
The babies with their blankies. So cute!
Ryker sporting a football helmet. He hates it when I take his picture, which is the reason for the funny face.
We like to go to the thrift store a lot. The boys are really close with the lady who runs it. They were going through a donation bin and found these tiger slippers and Ryker HAD to have them.
Brodie found a box of fake fruit, so he stocked up on grapes, pears, and broccoli.
We got a new puppy. The boys named him Ranger. He's a pretty good little dog as far as puppies go.
Mari started to eat solids. Still no teeth yet.
Mari moved to her crib. I didn't think anyone would be able to beat Ryker for the title of "worst sleeper" as far as babies go, but Mari has managed to take the crown. I feel lucky when she only wakes up 3 times a night.
And now it's winter and cold. We will miss you summer!
