This morning we went to the zoo again. It's sort of fun living close to a zoo that we can visit often and even better, that the kids still get in free!
Ryker was really into it this time. Brodie was too of course, but it's a lot of fun watching Ryker become more aware and excited about things.
The lady at the entrance gave us a little map of the zoo (something that Brodie has been really into) so we studied the map and decided to go look at the penguins first!
Brodie was thrilled because supposedly he saw a penguin that put his beak and belly under water and went swimming. I didn't see it... but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.
One of those rare brotherly love moments....

Ryker's favorite animal at the zoo was the ginormous snake. He would tell anyone who would listen that there was a snake in that cage.
What a cutie. Ryker is so awesome. He can be a bit challenging... he doesn't take threats as well as Brodie does, so you actually have to carry most of them out... very hard headed in that sense... but he is so lovable. His vocabulary amazes me every day. It's probably normal, but since Brodie's speech was so delayed, it just seems crazy to me. Today he said "mermaid" clear as a bell while he was watching Little Bear (his new favorite cartoon) and he can actually say sentences like... "Help me with that."
Looking at the alligator that was bigger then Ryker AND Brodie - quite impressive.
They have a little petting zoo, but unfortunately they were cleaning the pen and not letting anyone in to do any petting. We were able to pet a donkey and there were a whole bunch of little chickens in a pen that the boys got to touch... or rather the chickens pecked the boys whenever they stuck their fingers in their cage.
