It's no secret that BYU is kind of a big deal around these parts! BYU has had a bit of an up and down season this year, but considering where they've come from, they've done really well! Below is the first game of the season. I made the kids BYU pancakes, which the loved and we put our lucky flag out to blow in the wind. My little cheerleader was a bit put out because I made her wear pig tails. Back then she hated it when I did her hair, but now she loves it and will ask me to do it. Thank goodness we're past that stage!
We never made it to a BYU game last year, so this year we had to make it happen! We got tickets to the BYU vs UCONN game, which was a little nuts because it was a really late game... starting at 8:30 and that's a little crazy to take kids to a game that late. But it was the best weekend that was going to work for us. When Bo got done with school we started our trek down to Provo and it was literally traffic jam after traffic jam. We seriously see car wrecks every time we go down there! What should have been a 4 hour drive max, took 6 hours. We didn't even get to the game until it was almost half time. Such a bummer! So we had tired kids from being in the car all day and on top of that, when we got to the game it started to rain! Are you kidding me!?
But we had a blast anyways! Mari ended up falling asleep pretty quickly after we got there. She never falls asleep when we are in public, but I think all the stimulation and the cold rain put her right out. Ryker was able to meet Cosmo Cougar and that was a huge highlight for him and we invited Brodie's cousin to come with us, so he was super excited to share that experience with him. Plus Brodie breathes football.
A nice guy from Pocatello of all places, gave Brodie his poncho. Brodie thought that was pretty cool!
And BYU won, which was awesome!! And the kids were extra excited because they said it was the latest that they have ever stayed up. That is something special!
BYU for life!
