Brodie had his second wrestling tournament this weekend! He wrestled Folkstyle Friday night, got his first pin, won second place out of 5, and got a silver medal! Unfortunately, my camera battery was almost dead, so I only got pictures of one match... but oh well.

Mari has started to smile! Brodie was getting her to smile by saying, "Nana! Nana! Nana!" over and over again. Brodie would then turn to me and say, "Mom, she really loves Nana, huh?"
Silver Medal!
Saturday was the Freestyle tournament. The competition was a little tougher, but Brodie still managed to get 3rd place and a bronze medal! He also played a few bonus matches with some kids in the higher weight classes who kept losing to help boost their confidence, so he was a good sport!
This is Brodie's little wrestling friend Cesar. They are in the same wrestling club and are usually partners during practice. This is Cesar's first year wrestling and was his first tournament. He also got a silver medal Friday night, but they put him up against some tough kids on Saturday. He was still thrilled with his ribbon though!
Brodie's fan club. Grandma and Grandpa were there for both tournaments and on Saturday, even Brodie's cousins, also known as his "Tall Friends" came to support him.

This kid loves going to the tournaments too because he gets all the hot dogs and gatorade he wants! Check out his blue mustache.
I thought this would probably be our last tournament of the season, because the other tournaments are further away, but Brodie informed me this morning that he wants to go to another tournament this Saturday because he wants to win a hundred medals. I kind of thought 3 was enough... but perhaps I am wrong. At least the tournament this weekend is in Ashton, so we could go to Big Jud's (from Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives) for lunch afterwards!
